Amy & Luke
Southwold is perhaps one of my favourite places in the country; the faded black beach huts by the harbour, tiny boats carrying foot passengers across the estuary and fresh fish calling from shuttered doors; pastel buildings and a beautiful town, swelling with visitors; welcoming pubs and inviting chip shops with warm fronted windows, and especially those colourful beach huts that line its gorgeous sands. So when Amy and Luke suggested heading that way for their engagement session, I was almost immediate in my reply; yes, of course. It made for the perfect backdrop for the two of them, too – their laughter, their honest warmth – they felt like genuine friends a couple of hours (and miles!) later.
I cannot wait for their wedding later this year, and joining them once again. For now, here are their colourful, seaside-y engagement photos – I think perhaps the ones in the chip shop have stolen my heart.
And, while in gorgeous Suffolk, we made a weekend of the trip; a cosy, farmyard airbnb, Three Magpies cakes in Southwold and long pub walks into late evenings. I love the pale pastel buildings that merge into the pastel blue sky, the oak and copper warmth of the fish and chip shop, white linen and short sleeves and that touch of summer warmth. A couple more perspectives;
